The Big Smile UK Amble walk

10. Warkworth Castle and Amble

Date: 02/07/2021

Meeting Point: The Stanners, Warkworth, Morpeth, NE65 0UU

This beautiful coastal walk starts in Warkworth, before looping around the ruins of the medieval Warkworth Castle above the River Coquet. We pass through the village and then follow the river until it meets the sea at Amble.

Skirting around Amble, we follow a coastal path southwards, past the Hauxley Nature Reserve. Then the Northumberland coastal path takes us all the way to Druridge Bay, from where we head inland by Ladyburn Lake. We make for the village of Broomhill, and then straight on back to Warkworth.
